Pattamakijsakul Named SEC Golfer of the Week

Texas A&M junior Thanya Pattamakijsakul was named the SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Pattamakijsakul shot an 8-under 208 to win individual medalist honors and help A&M tie for the team championship at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational last week.

The Nonthaburi, Thailand native won the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kane’ohe, Hawai’i by three strokes, beating eight top 100 players in the process. For the second straight tournament, had her career best finish (1st) and her career-best 54-hole total (208/-8).

She helped the Aggies tie No. 10 Oklahoma State for the team championship at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, as both teams finished with an 860 (-4). She went par-or-better in all three rounds in Hawai’i, and has gone par-or-better in five of her last six rounds.

Pattamakijsakul has had a breakout season, with a career-best 72.55 stroke average, which ranks fifth in a single-season at Texas A&M. She has posted 10 par-or-better rounds on the season, which is also a career-high. This is her first career Golfer of the Week honor, but the second for Texas A&M this spring.

Pattamakijsakul and the No. 22 Aggies return to the course at the Clemson Invitational this weekend, April 1-3 in Sunset, S.C.
