Samantha Show named SEC Freshman of the Week

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M’s Samantha Show was named SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

The East Bernard, Texas native went 3-0 in the circle with three complete games and two shutouts. Show struck out 11 in 20 innings of work only giving up two earned runs, and had tossed 22.1 consecutive scoreless innings before giving up the two runs in the top of the sixth against Indiana.

At the plate, Show hit .455 (5-for-11) with two doubles and two home runs with six RBI. At Houston, Show launched a two-run homer off the scoreboard and recorded her fifth home run of the season against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Show and the Aggies return to action Friday-Sunday at the San Diego Classic in San Diego, Calif. All Aggie games at the tournament can be heard locally on KWBC 1550 AM.
