A Navasota man charged with first degree murder turned himself in to Grimes County authorities Wednesday.
The attorney for Kelly Armstrong said his client promised to do so before noon after he was notified of a pending arrest warrant.
The Grimes county district attorney said Armstrong called 911 at 3:15 a.m. Monday and said his wife, Autumn, had been shot at their home on Jusdon Street.
Police arrived minutes later and found Autumn dead and the suspected weapon lying next to her on the bed, the district attorney said.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner said preliminary autopsy results list the cause of death as homicide via a single gunshot wound to the upper thigh.
Armstrong’s bond was set at $150,000.
