College Station police arrested a Bryan man Monday for assaulting a disabled person May 1st at Central Park. 18 year old Keyon Searcy is accused of injuring the 18 year old victim who functions at the level of a first grader due to a number of medical conditions. Searcy was at an unrelated court proceeding when he was arrested on the new charge. Investigators say more arrests and charges are possible.
A College Station neighborhood of duplexes had alarms going off Sunday night. Witnesses told police a man broke a window at the back of a residence then went inside. Officers saw a man leave through the same broken window. That was followed by a short chase and the arrest of a Bryan man. 28 year old Jeremy Cupples is accused of evading arrest and criminal trespassing by entering the home on Lodgepole Circle, off Ponderosa west of Longmire, which he used to share with his ex-girlfriend.
Authorities are looking for five or six black men and two Hispanic men who are accused of striking two victims then at gunpoint taking their wallets. College Station police officers were sent to Northgate Sunday morning at 4:30. In the area of First and Church, the victims reported trading words with the suspects as they were driving by. Then the gray, late 90’s model SUV stopped, the occupants got out, assaulted the victims, and one of the men pulled out a pistol and demanded the wallets. No life threatening injuries were reported.
On Saturday in the College Station neighborhood north of Dominik and east of Munson, police took four reports of vehicle burglaries and a theft of a firearm. A neighbor who witnessed one of the breakins on Westover called dispatchers. Officers found two men in the area and arrested 23 year old Steven Howell and 22 year old Stephen Warren of College Station for that burglary. Later in the day, police took three reports of vehicle burglaries on Hardwood. Officers did not disclose if forced entry was involved in any of the incidents.
