Rangers, Astros Come Up Short

BALTIMORE (AP) _ Steve Pearce hit two of Baltimore’s four home runs off Joe Saunders as the Orioles defeated the Texas Rangers 7-1 last night. Pearce put Baltimore ahead to stay with a two-run drive in the first inning and connected again in the fourth. It was his first two-homer game during a career that began in 2007.

HOUSTON (AP) _ Robinson Cano had a three-run shot in the seventh inning in a 10-4 Seattle Mariners win over the Houston Astros last night. Rookie James Jones had a career-high four hits and his second three-steal game. He’s the second player in franchise history and first since Ichiro Suzuki in 2004 to have at least four hits and three steals in a game.
