Humane Society’s Kathy Bice on WTAWFeatured Stories, Interviews Tuesday, May 6th, 2014
An area woman is undergoing a round of rabies shots after a bite from a kitten she was attempting to help.
Kathy Bice with the Aggieland Humane Society said the kitten had been attacked by a rabid skunk.
She said armadillos, opossoms, squirrels and rabbits are examples of low-risk animals, but to be especially aware of skunks and bats.
Bice said residents should be on alert for strange behavior in pets and wildlife, and don’t hesitate to contact authorities if bitten since rabies is fatal if not treated.
