Walker Named Honorable Mention All-American by Associated Press

Courtney Walker was named an All-American by the Associated Press on Wednesday. She is only the eighth All-American in program history after being named an Honorable Mention selection.

Walker set the Texas A&M sophomore scoring record with 563 points, which ranks sixth among all seasons in school history. The First Team All-SEC selection led A&M in scoring with 15.6 points per game and shot 46.2% from the field.

Walker amped up her play in the postseason, averaging 21.2 points in the SEC and NCAA Tournaments, and was named to the All-SEC Tournament and was a unanimous selection on the All-Lincoln Regional team.

She helped the Aggies to their third Elite Eight Appearance and a 27-9 overall record in 2013-14. The Aggies finished 13-3 in the SEC, which matched the Aggies’ best conference record in program history.
