Kyle Field Construction Update

An update on the $450 million dollar expansion of Kyle Field was presented Tuesday.

A&M System Chancellor John Sharp says the stadium will open on time and on budget.

Greg McClure of Manhattan-Vaughn Construction says that’s despite being slowed down by the weather. McClure says there’s been no additional time budgeted for mother nature.

The director of the Texas Transportation Institute, Dennis Christiansen, says with more fans in the stands, their goal is to have traffic congestion for home games at the same level as in years past.

The chancellor says cell phone service is supposed to improve for customers of AT&T and Verizon.

A representative of the 12th Man Foundation says seating capacity this year will be 106,511. That’s down from the original estimate of 109,000.
