Guns Involved in Two Sunday Morning DisturbancesNews Monday, February 3rd, 2014
College Station Police responded to two gun-related disturbances Sunday morning.
Shortly after 3 a.m. police were dispatched to The Woodlands apartment complex near Wellborn and Harvey Mitchell, after neighbors called and said they heard shots. According to the arrest report, when police confronted 20 year old Joel Friedman of Spring, he fired a shot in the air. Before police arrived, there was gunfire when Friedman slammed a friend into a car and the friend fired two shots at Friedman. No one was hit by any of the gunfire and the friend was not arrested. Friedman was arrested for public intoxication, evading police, and assaulting the friend along with firing his gun. Police say additional charges and arrests are possible. Officers were told Friedman was in town celebrating his birthday.
CSPD Lieutenant Chuck Fleeger said 23-year-old Joshua Stone of Rockwall was charged with disorderly conduct after he brandished a handgun at the Northgate parking garage. Fleeger said Stone stopped his Camaro to look for something and blocked traffic from leaving the garage. Drivers waiting to exit honked their horns, and Stone exited his car and confronted them. Stone got back in his car but did not drive away. Drivers waiting to exit honked again. Stone exited again, and this time he pointed a handgun at them. An off-duty constable held Stone until police arrived just before 3 a.m. to make the arrest. No shots were fired.
No photo of Joshua Stone was available from Brazos County Judicial Records Search.
