Winter Weather Causes Multiple Accidents, Many on FreewayFeatured Stories, News Friday, January 24th, 2014
UPDATE 2:50 p.m.
From the TxDOT district office in Bryan: The Bryan District is ice free. There may still be some wet areas on the road, but travel in the Bryan District is good.
UPDATE 2 p.m.:
Southbound freeway traffic has reopened at the Rock Prairie exit, after being closed for several hours following a semi crash.
UPDATE 10:30 a.m.: CSPD efforts to clear the roadway and traffic crashes continue at this time. There are currently 6 crashes working at this time along Earl Rudder, University Drive and Texas Ave including multiple on southbound Earl Rudder at Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Motorists are advised to avoid travelling if not necessary and to avoid bridges and overpasses.
UPDATE 10:19 a.m.: Bryan PD is currently working six accidents several reported to be rollovers with minor or no injuries. Will be able to update as soon as things slow down.

- N. Earl Rudder at Boonville (rollover)
- SH 47 at Goodson (Rollover)
- N. Earl Rudder Frontage in front of Target has feeder shut down
- N. Harvey Mitchell at Rockwood (bridge)
UPDATE 10:00 a.m.: CSPD currently working 11 traffic crashes, primarily along the Earl Rudder Freeway between University Drive and Rock Prairie on/around bridges and overpasses. Public is cautioned to avoid travel along this area if not absolutely necessary.
Traffic on southbound Earl Rudder Freeway is still being diverted off at Harvey Mitchell Parkway due to the ongoing traffic crash involving the 18 wheeler. Efforts to clear the roadway are on-going and updates will be sent as the situation changes.
UPDATE 8:25 a.m.: CSPD is currently working 11 traffic crashes within the city, primarily on/around bridges and overpasses along Earl Rudder Freeway and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
Southbound Earl Rudder Freeway where traffic is being diverted off at Harvey Mitchell Parkway due to a crash involving an 18 wheeler on southbound Earl Rudder.
Northbound Earl Rudder at the speedway is still being diverted due to a crash near Nantucket.
There are currently 4 crashes being worked in the area of Raymond Stotzer and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.
UPDATE 8:12 a.m.: CSPD currently has north and southbound Earl Rudder shut down in and around Rock Prairie due to multiple crashes in the area
UPDATE 7:49 a.m.: CSPD is working 9 minor crashes at this time within the city. 7 of these crashes are along north and southbound Earl Rudder Freeway at overpasses. Roadway on northbound Earl Rudder at the speedway is still diverted. Motorists are advised to utilize caution at all times, especially on/around overpasses and avoid travel if possible.
UPDATE: Additionally there are minor crashes at Earl Rudder and Barron and Earl Rudder and Emerald Parkway overpasses.
The College Station Police Department is currently working a traffic crash on northbound Earl Rudder Freeway near Nantucket. Traffic on northbound Earl Rudder is being diverted off at the speedway due to roadway conditions.
