77 Traffic Weather-Related Incidents Worked By B/CS PoliceFeatured Stories, News Friday, January 24th, 2014
College Station police reported between 8 p.m. Thursday and and noon Friday, there were 28 traffic crashes and 22 other traffic-related calls for service, including motorist assists and traffic hazards. Over 80 percent of these incidents occurred Friday morning between 6 and noon. That included a semi crash on the freeway south of the Rock Prairie exit that forced southbound traffic on the frontage road for six hours.
Bryan police reported 27 separate incidents between 8 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday. While there were no injuries, one patrol vehicle was struck. This was at North Harvey Mitchell and Providence, where an officer was working another crash. That officer was outside at the time and was not hurt. In front of the Bryan Target, the northbound freeway service road was blocked for 1 1/2 hours by a crash.
