CSISD to Consider Multiple Requests to add Chinese

This week’s College Station school board meeting was the second in as many months with a request to add Chinese as a foriegn language.

Speaking Tuesday night was Eric Gann, who is a sixth grader at Oakwood.

Parents and children at the board meeting were not told that during a board workshop the decision was made to transfer the request to a pair of committees.

Superintendent Eddie Coulson says recommendations from a campus committee would be forwarded to a district committee, which would report to the school board.

The earliest Chinese or any new classes can be added in CSISD is the fall of 2015.
