Bryan Council Gives Preliminary Approval to Changing Wrecker Regulations

The Bryan city council is making more changes to the operation of wrecker companies.

Mayor Jason Bienski, on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, says multiple slots for one owner on a rotation list is going away.

So is the penalty for operators who have to skip their turn on the rotation list because they can’t get to a customer within 30 minutes.

Still on the books is the police chief’s authority of who is on the city list. Among wrecker owners who called on the council to switch control to a state agency were Hector Garcia and Sandra Portzer.

When the council takes final action in two weeks, they will also consider the first price hike on vehicle tows in ten years. What the increase will be has not been determined.
