More Traffic Changes in B/CSFeatured Stories, News Monday, January 13th, 2014
The Bryan city council is being asked to spend $92,000 dollars above the budget to replace traffic at two intersections. City staff reports there is enough money to make up the difference for new lights at College and Dodge and Villa Maria and Cavitt. Only one bid was received, which was for $542,000 thousand dollars. The lights at College and Dodge are believed to be the last of its kind in Bryan.
In College Station, changes are coming to the intersection of Texas and University. The city council at its last meeting awarded a $353,000 dollar contract. This is associated with the new student high rise housing complex. The developer is paying about a third of the cost of new signals and a turning lane. The project is about $50,000 under budget.
The College Station council also moved ahead with removing parking on one side of a cul-de-sac off Rock Prairie west of Wellborn Road. It was the second time residents on Toni Court made the request.
Below is the background information of eliminating parking on one side of Toni Court in College Station.
