Credit Card Fraud ArrestFeatured Stories, News Friday, January 10th, 2014
A College Station policeman received a letter from his credit card company that someone made an online attempt to open a fraudulent account.
That led to a month-long investigation which resulted in the arrest of an office employee of a local fitness business.
Lt. Chuck Fleeger says the internet address and the physical address of the bogus account were traced to 20 year old Joi Coleman of College Station, whose job included processing credit card information.
Coleman is accused of using the credit card information of nine customers to fraudulently apply for credit. At this time, there is no evidence that any credit card charges were made, but the investigation continues.
