A&M Students and Staff Thank President Loftin

Texas A&M students, employees, and friends of Bowen Loftin gathered Thursday morning at a reception recognizing the departing president.

Comments from Dr. Loftin included the importance of social media in knowing how the university looks through the eyes of students.

Loftin also highlighted past presidents and leaders who contributed to the success of A&M.

Loftin also talked about the process of moving out of two homes as he and his wife Karin relocate to the University of Missouri. In addition to the on-campus president’s home, Loftin said his newly purchased home is for sale, along the 14th fairway at Traditions Golf Course.

Loftin also says once he is finished at Missouri, he’ll “go home to Aggieland to die…but not right away of course.”

His closing thought, which he said he would also share at Thursday’s convocation, is “We’ll bloom where we’re planted.”

Listen below to comments from all the reception program speakers:

Opening comments were made by Kyle Kelly, executive vice president of the Student Government Association.
