The BCS Marathon, the highest ranked marathon in the state of Texas, has renewed its alliance with Scott & White Healthcare through 2021. Scott & White will continue to lend its name and medical support to the marathon, making it the Scott & White BCS Marathon + Half Marathon.
The 2013 Scott & White BCS Marathon marks the third year for the race. In 2011, Scott & White Healthcare joined the BCS Marathon team as the medical sponsor, and in 2012 became the title sponsor.
“We could not be more excited to continue this fantastic sponsorship with our friends from Scott & White,” said Chris Field, Race Director. “Their support has played a huge part in helping to make the Scott & White BCS Marathon + Half Marathon the highest rated race in the entire state of Texas.”
This year’s race has more than 4,000 runners registered for the 26.2 and 13.1-mile event representing 37 different states and 4 countries.
“We are proud to continue this great partnership with the BCS Marathon as both the title and medical sponsor of the Scott & White BCS Marathon + Half Marathon,” said William Rayburn, MD, chief medical officer, Scott & White Healthcare – College Station. “We both share a commitment to making Bryan/College Station a healthier place for families, which is exactly what this marathon helps to do.”
With the economic impact of the 2013 marathon estimated at $400,000, and at nearly one million dollars since the race’s inception in 2011, the cities of College Station and Bryan have proclaimed December 8, 2013 be known as Scott & White BCS Marathon Day.
The race benefits local children’s charities, and will donate approximately $150,000 this year. Since 2011, the race has donated nearly $375,000 to local children’s charities.
“The BCS Marathon aligns very well with our values at Scott & White,” said Jason Jennings, chief executive officer, Scott & White Healthcare – College Station. “The race promotes wellness, supports local charities serving children, and stimulates our area businesses. We are excited for our continued relationship.”
Race day is set for December 8 beginning in College Station. For more information visit bcsmarathon.com.
