A&M Faculty Senate Hears About Parking PrioritiesFeatured Stories, News Tuesday, November 12th, 2013
Texas A&M University administrators responded to concerns from the faculty senate of the absence of expanded parking for employees.
Provost Karan Watson says the higher priorities were new garages at the expanded Kyle Field and new student housing on west campus.
Dr. Watson says President Bowen Loftin tried to build a new parking garage near Cain Hall to serve Kyle Field and the new Northside residence hall, but was turned down by the A&M System, which has control over those matters.
Watson says Dr. Loftin has received recommendations to build a total of four garages in the next six years.
Besides Kyle Field and the west campus dorms, the other garages would be located near the Northside dorms and the Zachry building.111113-Provost-Karan-Watson-responds-to-parking-concerns.mp3
