Literacy Carnival Sunday Afternoon

The public libraries in Bryan and College Station are among the participants in a first ever literacy carnival.

It will be held Sunday (November 10) from 2 until 6 p.m. at Sue Haswell Park in Bryan.

Bobbee Pennington with the Clara Mounce Library says adults and children are invited to attend the free event.

The carnival is designed to raise awareness about importance of literacy and about opportunities to become involved in volunteering for literacy related activities in the twin cities.

Other participants includes Texas A&M student organizations, who will host fun, literacy-centered games and activities for children in K-4, presented in a carnival style under canopy tents.
