Beware of “BBB” Phishing Emails

The local Better Business Bureaus wants everyone to stay safe, especially since there’s a phishing scam claiming to be from the BBB.

President Bill McGuire says the email going around especially targets real estate offices and agents, saying that they are under investigation and threatening legal action if they don’t provide information by clicking a link.

McGuire says they use the phoney domain, “bbb-claims.org.”

He says the BBB has hired some IT people to try to make these problems more easily dealt with, and they’ve taken steps to make their own email even more secure.

McGuire reminds listeners not to click links inside of any suspicious emails, especially if the email makes it seem urgent.
