Shroom Problems in College StationFeatured Stories, News Monday, October 21st, 2013
Hallucinogenic mushrooms caused problems for College Station Police over the weekend.
Lieutenant Chuck Fleeger says a traffic stop for speeding early Monday morning led to the arrest of 34-year-old Ruben Carillo of Austin for possession of a large amount of hallucinogenic mushrooms and a large amount of black tar heroin, packaged for sale.
Fleeger says Carillo was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.
The heroin was worth $1500.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case on Sunday, a College Station man reported that he had consumed what he thought were magic mushrooms and that he “felt like he was dying.”
Fleeger says 22-year-old Robert Filloramo was taken to the hospital, where he punched a nurse in the face and was subsequently arrested.
Fleeger says Filloramo also ripped an IV out of his arm and began to try to run from the hospital before officers caught him and arrested him for assaulting emergency services personnel.
