Expanding Rudder High Athletic Facilities on Bryan School Board AgendaFeatured Stories, News Monday, October 21st, 2013
Three months ago, the Bryan school board voted to start over in the selection process for $2.5 million dollars of improvements to athletic facilities at Rudder High School.
Monday, administrators are scheduled to present their latest plans.
Superintendent Tommy Wallis says nothing has changed except the method to hire who will supervise the project.
Last July, the board voted down a committee’s selection of three finalists following complaints from local builders and architects that they were all from out of the area.
The board decided to employ a one-step process combining the qualifications and fees of interested bidders.
The Rudder fieldhouse expansion includes adding a multipurpose room, new dressing rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, and coaches offices.
The project would also build press boxes and storage at Rudder’s baseball and softball fields along with a practice field for softball and a practice baseball infield.
