A College Station couple is accused of breaking into multiple self-storage units earlier this year then selling thousands of dollars of merchandise to local pawn and resale stores.
36 year old Joann Spurgeon has been in jail since April, accused of illegal use of a credit card owned by an elderly person.
32 year old David Venne entered a plea agreement to the credit card charge and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The new accusations were reported to College Station police by three victims who found some of their property at pawn shops and retail stores.
According to the arrest report, detectives found 47 pawn transactions were made by the co-defendants between January and May of this year. And 33 items were sold to one store in one transaction.
Store management was told by Venne and Spurgeon they were instructed to clean out the storage units.
Detectives say they can confirm the the couple took furniture, electronics, and toys belonging to three of twelve victims at the former A-1 Mini Storage on Wellborn Road.
