Negotiations Continue For CSISD Purchasing Conference CenterFeatured Stories, News Friday, August 16th, 2013
Part of the next College Station school district bond package would expand alternative education programs.
The Center for Alternative Learning (CAL) may or may include the land where the city’s now-closed conference center is located.
Superintendent Eddie Coulson’s update to the city council this week included the desire to expand capacity of Timber Academy from 40 to 150 students.
The CAL also includes state-mandated alternative schools.
The cost of the expansion would be $15 million dollars, not including the land purchase and demolition of the center.
The school board considers the $83 million dollar bond issue next Tuesday.Eddie-Coulson-talks-about-the-Center-for-Alternative-Learning-081313.mp3
