Pocket Dial Leads to Drug BustFeatured Stories, News Monday, July 22nd, 2013
An accidental call to College Station Police led to a narcotics bust.
Police say Sunday afternoon, a 9-1-1 call took them to Navarro Drive near Steeplechase Park, where they attempted to find the person who had made the emergency call.
According to police reports, the dispatcher who answered the call could hear what sounded like people smoking and discussing marijuana and a bong.
College Station Police Assistant Patricia Logan says after establishing that there was no emergency, officers seized 29 grams of cocaine, 5.3 grams of Hashish oil, 2.7 ounces of marijuana, $4,131 in cash, and a bong valued at $1,200; all in a drug free zone.
David Norris, 18, of College Station, and Kyle Bading, 19, of College Station were both arrested.
Logan says the approximate street value of the drugs was $3,690.
