Bombers Can’t Hold the Lead in a 10th Inning Upset

Kilgore, TX (July 13, 2013) –

After controlling the game with a 5-1 lead over the PumpJacks, things took a downhill turn for the Bombers at the bottom of the 7th. The PumpJacks went on to dominate the last three innings, ending the battle in the 10th.
Despite giving up a run to the PumpJacks in the 1st, the Bombers came out swinging in the 3rd and 4th innings. At the top of the 3rd Jake Henson hit a single to bring home both Cody Lovejoy and Matt Eureste giving the Bombers a 2-1 lead. Hunter Melton scored for the Bombers in the top of the 4th making the score 3-1.
The action continued for the Bombers at the top of the 7th when both Patrick McLendon and G.R. Hinsley made it home on a wild pitch creating a comfortable 5-1 lead over the PumpJacks. Unfortunately this was the last the Bombers would see of home plate for the night, while on the other hand the PumpJacks would go on to score 5 more runs. Hayden Howard dominated the mound the majority of the game for the Bombers with 6 strikeouts and 6 hits. Logan Burch, Nick Johnson, Jason Gareri and Shay Maltese also contributed on the mound in the closing innings of the game.
The Bombers face the Texas Marshalls again on Thursday, July 18 at American Momentum Bank ballpark at 7:05pm.
