UPDATE: Fire Call to Brazos County IT Building

The Brazos County IT building in downtown Bryan was evacuated Friday afternoon for two hours following the discovery of black smoke coming out of an air conditioning vent.

Director Eric Caldwell said an a/c motor had to be replaced. There was no other damage.

Caldwell said non-critical employees were sent home at 3:30 and the remainder worked from the part of the building that had no smoke.

The former Lone Star Gas offices is located west of the Brazos County Administration building.

The Brazos County IT building in downtown Bryan was evacuated Friday afternoon following the discovery of black smoke coming out of an air conditioning vent.

As of 1:50 p.m. Bryan firefighters were on top of the building and inside the structure looking for the source of the smoke.

No evidence of a fire has been found.

The IT building, located west of the Brazos County Administration building, was the home of the former Lone Star Gas company.
