Two CSPD Detectives Honored For Saving LivesFeatured Stories, News Wednesday, June 12th, 2013
Two investigators with the College Station Police Department are being honored by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
Assistant Chief Brandy Norris says Travis Lacox and Andrew Murph are getting law enforcement valor awards for their actions during the Fidelity Street shooting last August.
The detectives responded to the shooting without hesitation. Arriving at the scene at the same time, and based on radio transmission, both knew that Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann had been shot.
The suspect was firing a high powered rifle from an opened front door of his home. With no cover between them and the suspect, Lacox and Murph fired at the suspect putting an end to the gunfire.
The action taken by Investigators Lacox and Murph saved numerous police officers and citizens.
The award presentation is Thursday morning at the state capitol.
