If you are an Atmos Energy customer and have automatic payments made through your bank, keep an eye on your account balance.
The Atmos Energy Facebook page has confirmed overcharging customer accounts.
The Associated Press reported about 27,000 customers were charged 10 times the amount of their bill.
Atmos customers have posted they’ve had ten times their bill being drafted from their bank accounts since the weekend.
Quoting the reply from Atmos, their “goal is to ensure any financial impact due to their error is reversed, including overdraft fees, within 24 to 72 hours.”
