Funeral arangements have been announced for Frank Simpson, the new City Manager of College Station who died Saturday of an apparent heart attack.
There will be a public visitation for Simpson Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church from 5:00 to 7:30 p. m.
A rosary will follow the visitation.
A reception and funeral services are set for Wednesday at 10 a. m., also at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
The church is located at 2541 Earl Rudder Freeway in College Station.
City Hall offices will be closed Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. to allow employees to attend Simpson’s memorial service. Phones will be answered during that time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to the American Heart Association or to the Frank Simpson Children’s College Trust Fund, care of Prosperity Bank in College Station.
The City of College Station also announced Monday that Kathy Merrill was appointed interim city manager by Mayor Nancy Berry. Merrill has been an assistant and deputy city manager in College Station since 2006. The city council will hold a special meeting Thursday at noon to address moving forward following Simpson’s unexpected death.
