More Than $60,000 Awarded By CSISD Education Foundation

More than $60,000 of grants are being awarded Tuesday to teachers across College Station ISD as part of the Education Foundation’s annual Grant Patrol.

Cal McNeill, president of the foundation, says it’s an extremely meaningful experience┬ábursting with excitement on the part of teachers, students, and staff as the group rewards grant-writing teachers for their ingenuity in teaching.

McNeill says a parade of cheerleaders, band members, and folks banging drums are part of the festivities, and happy tears are not uncommon.

He says it’s wonderful thing to see the resulting cutting-edge technology in the classrooms and the teachers having the freedom to think outside the box, but the foundation does more than provide the grants.

McNeill says you can tell on the teachers’ faces that they’re touched by the proof that there are people out there who believe in the school district, and who are willing to give money.
