Brazos Valley Runners in Boston Marathon Escape Explosion

There are at least eight runners from the Brazos Valley who competed in Monday’s Boston Marathon.

All completed well before the explosions near the finish line.

The marathon website lists four runners from B/CS, a fifth who ran at A&M, two from Brenham, and one from Hempstead.

B/CS Marathon Director Chris Field has been among those following what happened from the first tweet. He was in contact with one local runner who was in their hotel, and a second whose family posted they were safe.

Field says thoughts and prayers go out to those affected and it’s something that will be addressed in planning the third B/CS Marathon later this year.
