CS Police Investigate Suspicious PackageFeatured Stories, News Sunday, April 14th, 2013
News release courtesy of College Station Police:
On 4/14/13 at approximately 7:09 P.M, College Station Police Department (CSPD) received a report of a suspicious package in the 4200 block of Alexandria Avenue.
The reporting person advised that they found what appeared to be a homemade explosive device in the street near their home. CSPD officers responded and immediately began evacuating surrounding homes and cordoning off the roadways leading into the area.
Members of the College Station Police Department Explosives Unit responded to the scene and were able to determine that the object was a small tube containing spent “firecrackers”.
The package was safely removed and the area was opened to normal traffic flow at approximately 8:16 P.M.
