Motorcyclist Killed Near Bremond

A motorcyclist was killed early Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 6 and 14 just south of Bremond in Robertson county.

Trooper Jimmy Morgan says the collision between 21-year-old Jason Mitchell of Bridgeport’s motorcycle and 53-year-old James Chmiel of Bremond’s truck was forceful enough that it knocked the truck sideways and ejected the driver.

Morgan says the truck pulled into the path of the motorcycle, but investigators are still looking at speeds and contributing factors to the crash, and they haven’t filed any charges at this time.

Morgan says Mitchell was wearing a helmet.
