Redevelopment of Former Plaza Hotel Resumes
Featured Stories, News Friday, March 15th, 2013Last May, thousands watched the implosion of the former Plaza Hotel at University and Texas.
Addressing the lack of activity after debris was removed, College Station Director of Planning and Development Bob Cowell says the property owner dealt with financing issues.
Cowell says once that was resolved, site preparation began for new student housing and retail.
That includes utility work done by the city and private firms.
Cowell says construction should start in the next two months. with completion of the first phase targeted for next year and the second phase in 2015.
