HOUSTON (AP) _ Donatas Motiejunas scored a career-high 19 points to lead five
Houston starters in double figures and the Rockets routed the Phoenix Suns
111-81 on Wednesday night.
James Harden scored 18 and Omer Asik had 14 for the Rockets, who stayed in the
No. 7 spot in the Western Conference standings.
Wesley Johnson scored 10 of his 15 points in the first quarter for the Suns,
who lost to Houston for just the fourth time in the last 14 meetings. Luis Scola
had four points and four rebounds in his first game in Houston since the Rockets
designated him as their amnesty cut last summer.
Houston had all five starters in double figures for the 11th time this season.
MAVERICKS-WRIGHT
Mavericks sign G Chris Wright to 10-day contract
DALLAS (AP) _ The Dallas Mavericks have signed free agent guard Chris Wright to
a 10-day contract.
Wright was playing in the NBA Development League for Iowa, where the 6-foot-1
guard averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 assists in his 38 games. He was a D-League
All-Star.
The Mavericks announced the deal Wednesday. They have a full 15-player
roster.Wright is expected to join the Mavericks in San Antonio and be available
for Thursday night’s game against the Spurs.
Wright was undrafted in 2011 after playing collegiately at Georgetown and
played in the Turkish Basketball League in 2011-12. He spent the 2012 training
camp with the New Orleans Hornets before going to the D-League.
