Volunteers Needed for Chamber Day

Two weeks from Thursday, March 21, is the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce annual visit to hundreds of local businesses.

The chamber’s Priscilla Miller says 130 volunteers visited 697 businesses last year.

In small groups, the volunteers thank local businesses for doing business in Bryan and College Station as well as to inquire about how the economy has affected them and how overall business is going. They also gave the businesses the opportunity to discuss any problems or concerns they have and any other issues affecting them.

Group members then wrote responses they gathered from each business, which the Chamber processes then presents to memers and city officials.

Miller says volunteers can work a half or whole day, then celebrate with a Business After Hours event at Allen Honda.
