Two Semis Bump on Freeway, Resulting in Major Slowdown

As the Greg Pickard funeral procession was leaving the freeway southbound at Emerald Parkway, two semis bumped in the northbound lanes.

Neither driver was hurt nor was anyone in the litter pickup crew working in the median.

The wreck, which happened during the noon hour, restricted northbound traffic to one lane until shortly before 3 p.m.

The wait was shorter for northbound freeway traffic that got off at Rock Prairie, used the frontage road, and re-entered after crossing Southwest Parkway.

College Station fire and police units already at the intersection to observe the funeral procession had to leave to respond to the minor collision.

One of the two semis involved in the minor collision that backed up freeway traffic for five hours.
