Brazos Valley Residents Rally as Gun Debate Continues
Featured Stories, News Friday, February 22nd, 2013As the gun security debate continues, Brazos Valley residents can join others around the state and nation in a Day of Resistance to protect the right to bear arms.
Coordinator David Osgood says the local event, which will start at 11am Saturday at Caldwell’s VFW post, is an answer to the 23 executive orders that President Obama issued last month.
Osgood says it will be a day to rally and enjoy refreshments, with Congressman Bill Flores of Bryan, Anne Mazone of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature, and others speaking.
He says the event should last until about 2, but no weapons will be permitted because the TABC license, which permits the VFW to serve alcoholic beverages, forbids it.
The Caldwell VFW Post is located at 1644 Texas Highway 36 South in Caldwell.
