CSISD Bond Committee Has Its First MeetingFeatured Stories, News Thursday, February 21st, 2013
The College Station school board has taken the next step towards a possible bond issue this November.
This week’s board meeting included a review of the first meeting of a nearly 40 member building committee.
The committee consists of 17 parents, 12 district employees, two members of the school board, and five members at large.
Superintendent Eddie Coulson says the decision was made to repeat the process used in 2007 and 2009, setting a maximum price for future projects. And it’s anticipated two financial factors, low interest rates and an increasing tax base, will continue.
Dr. Coulson says something that will be in the mix will be whether to exercise the option to buy the College Station conference center. The city council voted earlier this month to not reopen the center and to sell the property.
