Brazos County Employee Killed in CrashFeatured Stories, News Tuesday, February 19th, 2013
UPDATE: The intersection of FM 2818 and Sandy Point Road reopened at approximately 3 p.m.
NEWS RELEASE FROM THE BRYAN POLICE DEPARTMENT:
On Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at approximately 0947 hours, a major accident occurred in the intersection of FM 2818 and Sandy Point Rd.
A 2005 6-ton Aggieland Wrecker capable of towing an 18-wheeler was traveling Southbound in the 2200 block of Harvey Mitchell Parkway/FM 2818.
A 2006 Ford Brazos County Road and Bridge truck was traveling Eastbound in the 5000 block of Sandy Point Rd.
The driver of the Ford failed to yield right of way and proceeded across the intersection and was struck by the other vehicle.
The driver of the Aggieland Wrecker was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Brazos County Road and Bridge truck, identified as 61 year old Bobby Joe Green of Bryan was transported to St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
