$150K Presented to BCS Marathon Charities

Two local charities picked up $25,000 dollar checks Monday.

Officials of Scott & White Healthcare and the BCS Marathon made the presentation to the Downs Syndrome Association of the Brazos Valley and SOS Ministries.

Scott & White’s chief executive for the College Station region Jason Jennings says applications are being accepted for next year’s marathon as charity partners.

The Mercy Project, a locally based non-profit working to eradicate child slavery in Ghana, Africa, will receive the balance of the $150,000 dollars generated by the second annual marathon.
