A&M Regent Visits The Flagship Campus
Featured Stories, News Wednesday, February 13th, 2013Future funding of higher education in Texas was a subject at this week’s meeting of the A&M Faculty Senate.
A&M System Board of Regents member Elaine Mendoza was asked if this year’s lobbying efforts in Austin will do any good in continuing attempts to restore funding cuts made two years ago.
She also addressed skepticism from one member of the Faculty Senate that lobbying state lawmakers won’t help.
Mendoza says the information being given to lawmakers working with the budget and appropriations are seeing where the money is going and how students are performing.
Mendoza says education solves so many problems, including health care, democracy, and the economy.
