A&M President Uses Social Media To Report His Hospitalization

Texas A&M University President Bowen Loftin used social media Tuesday to announce he was hospitalized in Austin for the removal of a kidney stone.

Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jason Cook says when Dr. Loftin arrived in Austin Monday, he was experiencing severe abdominal pain.

Loftin went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed as having a large kidney stone.

He elected to have it removed overnight, and returned to College Station Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to announcing his hospitalization, Loftin also used Twitter to send his regrets about missing Tuesday night’s Silver Taps ceremony.
