Overturned Truck Spills Treated Sewage

The intersection of University and Spring Loop was closed for two and a half hours Wednesday afternoon.

That’s after a City of Bryan truck overturned, dumping the better part of ten tons of treated sewage.

Jenna Kujawski with the city says the driver is OK and the spilled material was loaded into a dump truck and taken to a nearby compost facility.

Kujawski says the driver was making a turn from Spring Loop to University when the truck overturned. No other vehicles were involved.

Kujawski says crews from the cities of Bryan and College Station had the spilled biosolids off the street in about 30 minutes.

College Station Police and Fire responded to the incident about 2:00 p.m. and reported the intersection was reopened at 4:30.
