Texas A&M Backup Quarterback Showers To Transfer

Backup A&M quarterback Jameill Showers has decided to transfer. The junior-to-be reportedly asked Coach Kevin Sumlin for his release on Friday.

Showers described the decision to leave as “bittersweet”.

Showers will attempt to graduate in June or July and will play two years at a school of his choosing outside of the South Eastern Conference. He has mentioned Arizona State, Baylor, Texas Tech and Cal as possible options.

Before Johnny came on the field, I was looking forward to seeing Jameill play. The little time he played during Ryan’s last year made me want to see more of him. I sure don’t blame him for transferring and wish him well wherever he ends up. I think he is talented enough to be the starting quarterback anywhere but A&M.
