Middle School Student Suspended for Gun Threat

A local teacher heard a student tell classmates he was going to bring a gun to school and commit acts of violence.

This week’s incident at Davila Middle School led a police investigation and the suspension of a 12 year old.

Officer Kelley McKethan says the teacher and the students were interviewed. McKethan says it was determined the student accused of making the comments did not have the means to carry out the threat.

Bryan ISD spokeswoman Sandy Farris hopes parents who learn about what happened will take away that teachers are vigilant about listening and will act quickly.

McKethan says the student denied saying anything.

Kelley McKethan visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
