Three Children Die in Leon County Trailer Fire

A mobile home fire Tuesday night between Marquez and Centerville took the lives of three young girls.

Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis says the four month old, two year old, and four year old were at one end of the single wide located near Concord.

No names have been released.

The parents, who Ellis says barely got out, were treated at the scene.

The parents are staying with family members at a house near the trailer.

Ellis says the trailer was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived from Marquez, Flynn, Centerville, and Jewett.

The sheriff says an investigator from the state fire marshall’s office was on site Wednesday.

Kevin Ellis visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
