Hospital Executives Speak at Chamber Economic Outlook ConferenceFeatured Stories, News Thursday, January 24th, 2013
Executives of three hospitals located in Bryan/College Station participated in this year’s chamber of commerce economic outlook forum.
Dr. Bill Rayburn of Scott & White was asked about all offering high-end special services.
Odette Bolano at St. Joseph Health System was asked if we will be checking a surgeon’s outcome before picking a hospital.
Rayburn says the College of Medicine at the A&M Health Science Center can be valuable part of that partnership.
Questions asked of the College of Medicine Dean, Dr. Sam Shomaker included the neccesity of someone going to school eight to ten years to write a prescription for a Z-Pac.
Tom Jackson at College Station Medical Center, when asked about sharing electronic records with the other facilities, says that’s a federal mandate.
The Med and Scott & White also have the capability to enter medical orders on the hospital floor electronically.
