Morning Storms Generate False Fire Alarms
Featured Stories, News Tuesday, January 8th, 2013Lightning from passing storms before 12 noon Tuesday in College Station caused momentary power outages, which for some tripped fire alarms.
That includes the A&M System headquarters-the Connally Building-where there was an evacuation.
The College Station Fire Department was dispatched there as well as three other locations to make sure there were no fires.
The Bryan Fire Department reports no calls of this nature as of 12:40 p.m.
Bryan Broadcasting employees saw a lightning strike up close and personal. A bolt hit a light pole in the east parking lot of Crystal Park Plaza, resulting a flash of bright white and blue green colors.
